Terms & Conditions


These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to the Art‑LedCommunication Competition (“Competition”) run by Art for Social Change ("AFSC"or “we”). We are Crawford Adam Hollingworth, James Robert Beatton, SarahCatherine Cary and Melanie Jayne Cunningham, the proposed charity trustees ofthe proposed charity “Art for Social Change” with offices at 22 Mount Ephraim,Tunbridge Wells TN4 8AS. We have submitted our application to the CharityCommission to register as a charity.

By submitting your artwork to the Competition,you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms.

You will keep all legal rights tothe artwork you submit.

1. Who Can Enter

The Competition is free and open to people worldwide.

If you are less than 18 years old, you must ask your legal guardian or your school to makethis submission on your behalf.

Your submission must follow the entry requirements at: Entry and submission criteria

2. Artwork Created by Minors

If you submit artwork made by a minor, you confirm that:

  • you are the minor’s legal guardianor have permission from their legal guardian;
  • you can act for the minor in the Competition and agree to these Terms on behalf of the minor; and
  • you agree to these Terms foryourself and on behalf of any legal guardian and minor you represent.
3. Joint Submissions

If several people created the art work you submit:

  • you, being the person submittingthe entry, will act as the lead entrant in the Competition; and
  • you confirm you have permission from all co‑creators.
4. Verification

We may ask you to prove:

  • your identity
  • age
  • guardian consent
  • consent from co-authors

Failure to provide proof may result in disqualification.

5. Ownership of artwork

The author of the artwork will retain all ownership rights, including the right to exploit the artwork commercially.

By entering the Competition, yougive us permission to:

  • publicly display the artwork, for example on our website, on social media or in public places;
  • reproduce and publish the artwork in any physical or digital media
  • announce the name of the author(s)of the artwork and, if agreed with you, a short biography.

We will not use your artwork commercially without separate permission from you.

If you win the Competition, you will have the option to include your artwork in our Visual Data Bank which is governed by separate terms and conditions.

6. Crediting Authors

You must tell us:

  • the names of every person who contributed to the creation of the artwork
  • any third‑party contentused.
  • Any AI tool used. There are no restrictions on the use of AI. We would just like to know when you use it.

We will credit authors where possible. If the author is a minor, you can decide how we may name them, eg by first name only or by pseudonym.

We may choose not to exhibit your artwork.

7. No Payments

There is no prize for winning the Competition.

You will not receive royalties or payments for our permitted use of your artwork, unless we enter a separate written commercial contract with you.

8. Your Promises

You confirm your submission:

  • is accurate and complete;
  • lists all creators and AI toolsused;
  • is an original work created by you or the person you represent;
  • has all necessary permissions from third parties; and
  • does not breach any laws.
9. Third Party Claims

You agree to compensate us for losses arising from any third‑party claims alleging that your artwork (or our permitted use of your artwork) in fringes their rights.

10. Publicity

You may say you entered the Competition. You may only use our name or logo with our prior written permission.

12. Our Liability

We are not responsible for unforeseeable losses or business‑related losses. A loss is “foreseeable” if it was known or obvious that such loss would be the consequence of our breach.

Our total liability in connectionwith these Terms, the Competition and our use of your artwork is limited to £500.

13. Data Protection

We will process your personal data according to our privacy policy.

14. Other Legal Terms
  • Judging decisions are final.
  • We are not liable for events outside our control.
  • These Terms together with the entry requirements set out at [INSERT LINK] are the full agreement between you and us.
  • English law applies.
  • Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
